Our one-on-one counseling program will take you, the First Time Home Buyer or the Returning Home Buyer (owned a home in the past), to a much deeper level of understanding. Your credit reports will be reviewed along with your FICO scores and an action plan tailored exclusively for your situation will be developed.
Our individual counseling activities include: Helping you to develop an individual budget, showing you how to effectively reduce your personal debt, increase your purchasing power and increasing your credit scores. We will help you to understand what types of mortgages are available to you and down payment & closing cost programs.
HEA’s counselor can assist you with choosing a lender and understanding the lending process and documents that are a part of the mortgage application and approval. Describing what happens at the closing and how to read the closing documents. Filing for Homestead Exemption and understanding Property Taxes.
As part of our comprehensive Pre-Purchase counseling services we also offer the most relevant Foreclosure Prevention strategies to help you better understand how to avoid the hardship associated with Foreclosure.
