Mr. Walker served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician in Guam, Viet Nam and Japan, a Racial Awareness Facilitator, Multi-Cultural Awareness Facilitator and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the Republic of the Philippines before rotating to the United States as a Recruiter.
Mr. Walker’s additional state side active-duty assignments were as Contract Compliance Officer, Trend Analysis (avionics systems all test aircraft), Quality Assurance Inspector H-46 and H-46 Crew member attached to the Avionics Division of the U. S. Navy’s Test Pilot School at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. He established and supervised the Aircraft Maintenance shop for the newly created Strike Attack wing, comprising A-6 and A-7 aircraft of the Test and Evaluation Squadron at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Following an Honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he went into the private sector and trained as a Gas Turbine Field Service (TF-41 jet engine Technical Representative) and trained on the T-250 and T-56 turbo shaft engines for The Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors.
Mr. Walker has been involved in the Affordable Housing industry for more than 25 years, first with the RTC (Resolution Trust Corporation), next with the Alliance for Affordable Housing, Inc. (a 501C3 Not for Profit Housing Agency) and recently retired from the Housing and Education Alliance, Inc. While employed for those Not for Profits Me. Walker developed and implemented curriculum for first time home buyers from 4-40 clock hours instructional time. He has or taught more than 25,000 people the process of buying and keeping their first home. More than 10,000 of whom ultimately purchased their first home in the local area of Hillsborough County the City of Tampa and surrounding communities.
Mr. Walker was a licensed Real Estate Agent in Florida (since 2001- 2018), a Housing and Credit Counselor working with persons who need pre-purchase, post-purchase and pre-foreclosure assistance. During the “Great Recession” Mr. Walker engaged in Foreclosure Prevention, Mortgage Default Counseling (NCHEC certified), Pre-purchase Counseling, Post Purchase, Counseling and Financial Literacy Education.
Mr. Walker is the co-author of “Foreclosure: The American Nightmare”, a 50 (fifty) state lay-persons guide for those facing foreclosure. He has been interviewed by local television and radio stations as well as international newspapers, Ebony Magazine, Bank Rate “dot com” (articles published in the GTAR News Greater Tampa Association of Realtors Newspaper) and others. He is an acknowledged industry expert on Foreclosure Prevention and carries several national certifications. Mr. Walker has participated in topic specific trainings and created videos to train attorneys in methods of assisting borrowers with Loss Mitigation when filing for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy protection, as well as attorneys and realtors on the basic subject of Foreclosure Prevention.
